Mission

The St. Albert Youth Community Centre offers barrier free access to programs and activities focused on building assets and skills in youth and support networks for their families. The Centre collaborates with youth, families, service clubs, government agencies, businesses, and community members and organizations to provide education, prevention and crisis services in a safe and supportive environment.

History

The St. Albert Youth Community Centre was formed as a non-profit society in 1997 as a direct result of the St. Albert Human Needs Assessment Report (1993) and the Youth Services Report (1995). Drawings on the findings in these two reports and with the additional information contained in the St. Albert FCSS Community Needs Assessment (2009) and the Search Institute Survey for Developmental Assets: A Profile of Your Youth (2009), the YC is a culmination of these recommendations contained herein.
