The St. Albert Youth Community Centre (SAYCC) is a safe and supportive environment, filled with challenging and constructive programs for youth in grade seven to age 17. Qualified staff welcome all the youth of St. Albert into the centre with no registration fees or barriers to access - so come down anytime and let’s be friends!
The youth centre is packed with opportunities to create, to grow, to share and to learn!
Not simply a drop-in centre, the YC provides mentorship for young adults trying to find their way in the world. Our focus is on discovering and strengthening talents and skills that already exist within each individual youth and helping to build new skills over time.
Our skilled and supportive employees and volunteers are all engaged in post-secondary education in fields which enhance their suitability for developmental asset work with youth. This provides a solid, educated foundation that lets us connect with the youth of St. Albert. In so doing, the youth that attend the centre feel more connected to the community. It does, after all, take a village to raise a child.
We strive to maintain programs where each youth is expected to fulfill their potential. Helping to build assets in youth, we are proud to be part of a caring community, which endeavors to nurture the development of eager, intelligent and talented individuals!
Music Studio
The Establishment Music Studio is a well-equipped practice space for young musicians, where both skills and self-confidence can grow in-turn. With acoustic and electric guitars, a bass guitar, drums, piano, and various other percussion instruments, The Establishment is an electrifying place to get inspired.
Youth are free to jam with their bands, but we also provide an essential space for composition of new music that expresses the issues and dilemmas youth face in a positive way. With trained and professional musicians and writers on staff, youth truly have the opportunity to get rare feedback from mentors who have experience in the creative industries. We are always happy to start young musicians off on their musical careers and proud of our youth for all their musical successes!
